Compatibility Guide

Buying sim racing gear from different brands? This guide covers what works with what — quick release systems, pedal mounting, and cockpit fitment. We've done the research so you don't have to guess.

Wheelbase & Steering Wheel Compatibility

The quick release (QR) is what connects your steering wheel to your wheelbase. Different brands use different systems, and they are not cross-compatible without adapters. Here's what you need to know.

Simucube 3 — Link Quick Release

The Simucube 3 (Sport, Pro, Ultimate) uses the Link Quick Release — a completely new system that is not the same as the Simucube 2 SQR. It features a stress-optimized P3G polygon shape and supports Simucube Lightbridge — wireless power and data transfer to compatible wheels.

Connection Type Compatible Wheels What You Need
Link Native (wireless power + data) Simucube Savu Pro, Simucube Savu Sport, BavarianSimTec Delta Pro SC, SimuCore SSL-1, and more coming from GSI, Ascher, P1Sim, Delta Sim Tech in 2026 Link Quick Release (included with SC3)
Wireless via Link Hub Simucube Valo GT-23, Ascher Artura Pro, Cube Controls (multiple models), SimRacingBay SRB GT3 V2, Hybrid Racing Simulations, SimLine Link Quick Release + Simucube Link Hub
USB (wired) Any USB wheel with 70mm bolt pattern — including GSI, BavarianSimTec OmegaPRO V2, and most aftermarket wheels Link Quick Release + USB cable. 50.8mm bolt pattern wheels need the Simucube 50.8mm→70mm adapter
SC2 wheels on SC3 Any wheel with a Simucube 2 SQR wheel-side kit Simucube 2 Quick Release Adapter for SC3 — replaces the Link QR on the base with the old SQR interface. Note: Lightbridge wireless features will NOT work through this adapter

Important: The Simucube 3 Link QR and Simucube 2 SQR are completely different systems. SC2 wheels do NOT plug directly into a SC3 base — you need the SC2 adapter. And SC3 Link wheels do NOT work on SC2 bases (there's an adapter for the mechanical fit, but Lightbridge wireless won't function on SC2 hardware).

Simucube 2 — SQR (Simucube Quick Release)

The Simucube 2 (Sport, Pro) uses the SQR system with a 70mm bolt pattern (6-hole PCD). All Simucube wireless wheels and most aftermarket wheels with the SQR wheel-side kit are compatible.

What Works Details
Simucube wireless wheels Plug and play via SQR + wireless
Cube Controls, Ascher Racing, GSI, and other 70mm wheels SQR wheel-side kit required (sold separately)
50.8mm bolt pattern wheels SQR wheel-side kit + 50.8mm→70mm adapter

Simagic Alpha EVO — QR-A Quick Release

The Simagic Alpha EVO series (Sport, 12 Nm, Pro, Ultra) uses the QR-A quick release. It supports both 50mm and 70mm bolt patterns and includes a built-in USB passthrough for connecting third-party wheels.

What Works Details
All Simagic wheels Plug and play — FX, FX Pro, GT Neo, GT1, GT4, GTS, and all Neo X wheels
Third-party USB wheels (50mm or 70mm PCD) Via QR-A with USB passthrough — works with GSI, Sim-Lab, Cube Controls, and most aftermarket wheels that use USB

Note on older Simagic bases: The original Simagic Alpha (non-EVO) and Alpha U use the older QR50/QR70 system with the same bolt patterns but no USB passthrough.

MOZA — D1-Spec Style Quick Release

MOZA wheelbases (R3, R5, R9, R16, R21) use a D1-Spec style quick release with a 70mm 6-bolt pattern. All MOZA wheels are cross-compatible across all MOZA bases.

What Works Details
All MOZA wheels Plug and play across all bases — GS V2, GS V2P Formula, Vision GS, and V2 wireless wheels
Third-party D1-Spec wheels Mechanically compatible, but buttons/paddles require separate USB connection to your PC. You also need to set the correct inertia ratio in MOZA Pit House software

Cross-brand note: You cannot directly connect Fanatec, Thrustmaster, or Logitech wheels to Simagic, Simucube, or MOZA bases. Each brand's ecosystem is separate. Third-party wheel makers (Cube Controls, Ascher, GSI, etc.) typically offer versions or adapters for specific base brands.

Pedals & Cockpit Mounting

Most sim racing pedals use standard bolt patterns and can be mounted to most aluminium profile cockpits. Here's what fits where.

Cockpit Pedal Mounting Notes
Sim-Lab (P1X, GT1 PRO, GT1 EVO) Universal — 40x80mm aluminium T-slot profiles Fits virtually all pedal sets. Drill or use T-slot nuts to mount. Pedal slider baseplates available for easy adjustment.
Sabelt (S99, P99, X99, Sim Lite) Dedicated Sabelt pedal mounts Sabelt sells specific adjustable, inverted, and ultra pedal mounts designed for their rigs. Third-party pedals fit via these mounts.
Trak Racer (RS6 MK3) Universal — aluminium profiles Similar to Sim-Lab, uses T-slot profiles that accept most pedal sets.

Wheelbase & Cockpit Mounting

Cockpit Mounting Options Fits These Bases
Sim-Lab P1X Pro Front mount, side mount, podium brackets All Simagic, Simucube, MOZA, and most other bases. Universal profile mounting.
Sim-Lab GT1 PRO / EVO Front mount, side mount All major bases. Front mount recommended for direct drive over ~15 Nm.
Sabelt S99 / P99 / X99 DD front mount, Asetek front mount Sabelt offers brand-specific front mounts. Check bolt pattern compatibility with your base.
Trak Racer RS6 MK3 Front mount, integrated Universal profile mounting, similar to Sim-Lab.
